About 1,020 examinees from various law schools in Visayas and Mindanao are expected to take the Bar here at the Silliman campus in November.
A delegation from the Supreme Court met with Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo to discuss the assistance that the City government can provide when it conducts the Bar exams at Silliman University in November.
The delegation from the Supreme Court led by Atty. Maria Victoria Tiangco, including staff of the Office of the Bar Chairperson, and the Office of the Bar Confidant, convened local representatives of the government agencies and organizations for a coordination meeting, as part of the preparations to ensure the safety of Court personnel and the Bar examinees during the conduct of the Bar examinations.
The SU College of Law has been selected as one of 28 local testing centers across the country in an “unprecedented move to meet the sign of the times, [wherein] the exams will be digitalized, proctored and localized, administered…in several cities and municipalities.”
The delegation from the Supreme Court also conducted an ocular of the Silliman campus where the Bar exam will be held on the four Sundays in November.
SC Associate Justice Mario Victor Leonen, chair of the 2020/21 Bar Examinations, had requested from the City Mayor’s Office for support in providing the needed resources, traffic management, police assistance, health protocols, and cooperation of the barangays for the duration of the exam in November.
For the months of October and November, these Bar examinees are expected to temporarily live in Dumaguete, and will require housing, dining, laundry services, etc. (Dgte City PIO)
