The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office has arrested over 1,000 individuals in a three-day enhanced simultaneous operations in the Province, an official said Friday.

Lt. Stephen Polinar, NOPPO spokesperson, told the media that the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) held from Aug. 19-21 was the third for this month.

“These people were arrested on separate operations relative to the illegal drugs trade, illegal gambling, loose firearms, and with warrants of arrest,” said Polinar.

A consolidated report showed that 11 operations on illegal drugs resulted in 11 persons arrested and a total of 45.940 grams of “shabu” confiscated with a corresponding street drug price of over P312,000.00.

The police also conducted 18 anti-illegal gambling operations that led to the arrest of 49 individuals.

Eighty wanted persons, including seven most wanted for various crimes, were also arrested.

Police also conducted 34 operations on loose firearms that led to the arrest of one person and the confiscation of 40 firearms.

Meanwhile, 1,024 persons were apprehended for violations of local ordinances.

Polinar said that many of those arrested were later released after they paid the corresponding fines and penalties. (Judy F. Partlow/PNA)
