Four people were rushed to the hospital for treatment after the longbed truck they were riding fell off a bridge Friday in Bais City.
Lt. Stephen Polinar, spokesperson of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, said the truck was driven by a resident of barangay Nangka in Bayawan City.
The truck, which was loaded with sugarcane, was traveling from Mabinay towards Bais City.
While traversing a descending curb at Cang-Abok Bridge in barangay Tamisu in Bais, its brakes malfunctioned, causing it to fall.
Aside from the driver, three male passengers, all of legal age, and residents of Bayawan, sustained serious injuries, and were rushed to the Bais City District Hospital.
Polinar said police are still investigating the incident. (PNA)
