Four siblings were killed early Saturday morning after their car crashed onto an oncoming cement mixer truck at the Dumaguete Bypass Road in barangay Batinguel.
Police said the fatalities, Sherwin Baba, 45, Alma Miñao-Baba, 59, Josephine Garcia, 48 and Jocelyn Miñao, all residents of Metro Manila, were just passing through Dumaguete on a road trip from Luzon to Mindanao on board their red Toyota Avanza.
Three of their companions sustained injuries and are now confined at a local hospital.
Investigation disclosed that the Avanza, driven by Sherwin, crossed over to the left side of the road and hit the oncoming cement mixer truck that was also traveling in the opposite direction.
The truck driver was immediately charged for Reckless Imprudence resulting in Multiple Homicide, Multiple Physical Injuries and Damage to Property. (AP)
