There is so much to be thankful for when we reach this middle stage in life. From the smallest of things to the insurmountable success, everything is grounded by hard work, determination, and perseverance. Life is what we make of it, and every realization of a dream helps frame the persona in us. We need to stop, look back, and appreciate a whole lot of things that are often taken for granted.

Let us take a closer look and be reminded of these treasures.

Keeping healthy
A Buddhist proverb says “Enough is a feast.” The very reason why we should take everything in controllable amounts. Remember, good health is good life.

Work and finances
Going to work each day is a blessing in itself, and it keeps our mind at peace to be financially-stable. We are assured of being able to continue life and experience happiness. Let us not forget that we are passersby here on earth, and it will never hurt us to share our blessings with the less-fortunate.

Support system
A shoulder to cry on; a confidant; someone who listens. We need them — friends, relatives, parents, siblings, people who are actually just around us at all times. Always find time to stop by and say hello, and create memories that will last a life time.

Walking the talk
Support a cause and stand for what you believe. There is no greater joy than pouring out your extra time and effort which makes your day truly blissful. It matters to make this a better place.

All these take place in the fruitful years of midlife. Recognize its existence and you will find solace and joy as you continue to live the life you built. Remember, you direct your path. Let nobody distract you to where you are heading. Keep yourself rooted on your convictions and hold on to what you believe. As Gary Keller said “Life is a question how we live it is our answer.”
