Indeed, Dumaguete City is going green. The Anti-smoking law and the Plastic Ordinance have been implemented to ensure a greener Dumaguete pasture. With its advocacy of going healthy and being environment-friendly, we are merely few steps away from having a “Cleaner and Greener” Dumaguete City.
The well being of the society does not only depend on a greener and cleaner community but most especially, the citizens with a healthy lifestyle as well. All the efforts of the people behind the implementations of the laws that promote a healthier community will all be put to waste if the citizens are not going healthy themselves.
It has been said that “Health is Wealth,” but today, we are living in a very busy world that we tend to forget the importance of keeping our bodies healthy. The body should be taken care of very well because if one part of the body dysfunctions, all areas are affected and may lead to illness and sickness. Joel T. Silot, a professional fitness instructor of World Fitness, gave us tips on how to maintain our bodies well being to live a fit and healthy life style that goes well with a healthy community.
According to him, to maintain a healthy body, we should be cautious about what we consume. Be sure to eat healthy foods. Intake of food supplements and vitamins are also a big help plus a proper and good exercise everyday. Best is to avoid fatty foods and foods that have high carbohydrates like rice. Filipinos are fond of eating rice since it is our staple diet. Since we can’t avoid eating rice, at least limit the intake. This way, our bodies are in the right shape to cope with all the things that are needed to be done.
He also pointed out that it really matters to do some exercise. Exercising does not only help the body remain fit and healthy but it also improves one’s confidence. Recommended exercises to maintain the wellness of the body are cardiovascular and abdominal exercises. It increases the body’s stamina and results to good circulation of the blood.
Since people are going too busy these days, here’s a tip Joel has given us on how to stay in shape despite the busyness. It is important to always choose the right food to consume, allot a time for exercise like jogging and other minimal exercise. It is also best that we allot at least 12 hours of sleeping time. It helps give us a sound mind and a fit body.
Even with our hectic and tight schedule, we must ensure that we maintain the good condition of our bodies to avoid future health problems. It wouldn’t hurt us allotting even a small time for exercising and doing minimal outdoor activities. With these activities plus the right choice of food, stay in shape and be fit physically and mentally as well as it gives a sound mind. Keep the body healthy to keep the doctors away.
