The Philippine Association of Local Government Accountants Inc. (PhALGA) winds up its 11th Annual National Convention today at the Negros Oriental Convention Center in Dumaguete City.

Atty. Louie Rastica, incumbent president of the PhALGA and municipal accountant of the municipality of Bindoy in Negros Oriental, said over 100 city and municipal accountants attended the event.

The annual convention all local government accountants is held to give a chance to the participants to share their learnings and experiences as they face the challenge of honest and transparent accounting records of the local government units.

Rastica said they are inspired by President Benigno Aquino III’s Tuwid na Daan.

The three-day convention, which started last Thursday, discussed updates from the Commission on Audit on Auditing & Accounting Rules and Regulations on Local Government, Global Accounting, Reclassification, Compensation & Benefits of Local Government DBM and Civil Service among others.

The Annual Convention theme is PhALGA… Committed to Integrity, Transparency & Accountability”. (PNA/PR)
