in time for April 8 maiden flight

AirAsia Philippines is now officially offering tickets for its Manila-Dumaguete flights in time for the inauguration of its latest domestic route.

This comes timely as the country relaxes its inter-zonal travel protocols amid the decline in its CoViD-19 cases.

Beginning April 8, AirAsia will be flying Manila-Dumaguete four times weekly, using an Airbus A320 aircraft.

AirAsia Philippines’ flight to Dumaguete is expected to help stir the economy of the City, as import-export and technology-related trade are expected to be driven by the new flight routes of the world’s best low-cost airline.

To entice more travellers to take advantage of this new destination, AirAsia Philippines is offering a P1 base-fare which comes with up to 33 percent discount on SNAP and hotels. The promo is available until Sunday, March 13 for travels to popular destinations including Dumaguete until March 25 next year.

AirAsia Philippines’ entry to the City of Gentle People is also expected to encourage more young professionals to visit Dumaguete. Listed among the top destinations in the country for Business Process Outsourcing and Information Technology, Dumaguete is a haven for professionals who are interested in publishing, medical transcription, animation, editing and other outsourcing jobs who are looking for a work-cation site.

“On top of bringing in travelers and reviving our tourism industry, we would also like to support the industries of the local government units where we fly,” said Steve Dailisan, spokesperson of AirAsia Philippines Communications & Public Affairs. “Our Dumaguete flight will not only strengthen our presence in Central Visayas, but will also give people and industries great choices for flexible flight schedules which will suit their needs, be it travel or cargo services.”

Dailisan said AirAsia Philippines’ presence in Dumaguete is expected to provide guests with the world’s best service, value-for-money deals, hassle-free booking, seamless check-in, as well as flight add-ons via the Super App.

He added that as it expands its roster of domestic flights, AirAsia Philippines reiterates the effectiveness of its multi-layered approaches to safety which include the full vaccination of its entire crew, presence of High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter in their aircrafts, and the implementation of IATF safety protocols.

AirAsia was recently awarded for upholding the highest levels of safety and operational integrity with a 7/7 rating from the experts at airlineratings.com.

Last month, AirAsia Philippines Chief Executive Officer Ricky Isla, and Chief Finance Officer Ray Berja paid a courtesy visit to Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo and to Negros

Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo to express gratitude for their support of its expansion in the region.

All AirAsia domestic flights will operate from NAIA Terminal 4 beginning March 28; while all AirAsia international flights will continue to operate at NAIA Terminal 3. (PR)
