Mayors of one city and one municipality in Negros Oriental, who are on their third and last term in office, have won their bid for a three-year term as vice mayors to their own children.
Guihulngan City Mayor Ernesto Reyes (LP) slid down to No. 2 in favor of his son Guido.
Likewise, Jimalalud Municipal Mayor Reynaldo Tuanda ran and won as Vice Mayor to his daughter, Hazel Tuanda-Billones. Like Reyes, they also ran under the Liberal Party.
It was a slightly different case in the municipality of Amlan where Mayor Bentham dela Cruz (NPC) was reelected along with his brother, Gino, who is now Vice Mayor-elect.
Two siblings in one office can also be found at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Negros Oriental starting July, when Vice Gov. Mark Macias (LP) will preside the Provincial Board, where his brother Erwin (NPC) will be sitting as No. 1 Board member.
In the Province of Siquijor, Siquijor Municipal Mayor Richard Quezon (LP) is the Vice Mayor-elect, while his daughter Mei Ling is the Mayor-elect.
