Hundreds of Dumaguete residents were given free medical, dental and optical treatment by members of the Alpha Phi Omega Alumni Chapter of North America, in cooperation with the Lambda and Gamma and the NORSU petition chapters, last Wednesday.
The activity was part of the 28th National Biennial General Assembly in Dumaguete last week, which was attended by over 1000 delegates, which had Vice President Jejomar Binay, who is also an APO member, as their guest of honor.
During the convention, they held a memorial service in honor of their APO brothers who were among the policemen killed in Mamasapano, Maguindanao last Jan. 25 — Senior Inspectors Ryan Pabalinas, Max Tim Tria, and Gary Erana, Police Officers 2 Chum Agabon and Roger Cordero, and PO1 Romeo Cempron.
Assembly chairman Ernie Tabasuares said posthumous awards were extended, and cash donations given to their immediate families courtesy of ACNA headed by Aleks Garcia, 1st VP Irma Alamazan, and 2nd VP Thom Pascual.
APO has 1,319 Philippine collegiate chapters and 290 alumni associations in the country and overseas. (SGR)
