Apple Philippines conducted the iTUnes U training for FU faculty last week.
Joe Sibayan, national development executive of Apple Philippines, discussed various ways how to increase enrollment in FU’s iPad Program, and ways how to create a mobile classroom set-up conducive for the use of the iPad.
The training program is in line with the publishing standards of the University which produces its own e-books, personalized to the needs and core competencies expected of its high school students.
iTunes U is a seamless way to organize a classroom with homework hand-in, an integrated grade book, and private discussions. It also allows teachers to build assignments in minutes, and immediately share the details with their class, saving time, while students stay on track.
It allows students to engage with rich learning materials like applications, books, videos, podcasts, and primary sources from across iTunes. There’s no limit to how creative the assignments and homework projects can be.
FU High School has been at the forefront of meeting technology with the daily needs in secondary education. It is the first school in the country that utilized iPads for classroom learning.
Gearing towards the future, FU prepares to be the first duly-recognized Apple Developer School in the country. (Febby Marton Rule)
