President Benigno S. Aquino III has promoted two Municipal Trial Court judges in Negros Oriental to the Regional Trial Court.
Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda made the announcement during the regular press briefing in Malacanang last Thursday.
President Aquino signed on May 11 the appointment letter of Judge Joseph A. Elmaco as Judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 36 in Dumaguete City. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the Silliman University in 1982 and was admitted to the Bar in 1984. He served as 2nd Municipal Circuit Trial Court, Bindoy-Ayungon-Manjuyod in Negros Oriental since 2006 until his appointment.
MTC Dumaguete Judge Cenon Voltaire B. Repollo, on the other hand, was appointed as Judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 38 in Dumaguete City. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the Xavier University, Ateneo De Cagayan in 1997 and was admitted to the Bar in 1998. He served as Presiding Judge of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities Branch 2 in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental since 2006 until his appointment.
