Sen. Koko Pimentel has released P5 million for the repair and rehabilitation of the Bais City Public Library.
Bais City Mayor Karen Villanueva said a staff member of Sen. Pimentel handed over the Special Allotment Release Order and a Notice of Cash Allocation last Monday.
Speaking to City employees during the flag lowering ceremony last Friday afternoon, Villanueva, who is eyeing a congressional seat in the 2nd District of Negros Oriental, disclosed plans of transferring the City Library to the grandstand. Under this plan, Villanueva said the City Library and the Bais City High School Library will be merged into a library hub.
Mayor Karen also said that President Noynoy Aquino had earlier given P10 million to Bais City to improve the Bais District Hospital. She also announced the holding of a National Motocross Competition in Bais City on March 9-10.
The competition, which will be held at the Bais City grandstand, will be held through the assistance of Rep. Josy Limkaichong, the Liberal Party gubernatorial candidate.
