Original Pilipino music from talented local bands will set the stage for Negros Island’s biggest forest restoration movement at the Positive Energy battle of the bands grand finals on October 10.
Brought to us by the Energy Development Corporation (EDC), this free concert that will be held at the Ninoy Aquino Freedom Park will mark a milestone for Negros Island Region as various stakeholders from Negros Oriental and Occidental come together and commit to plant and grow forests for a greener future.
EDC’s first set of partners from the private and public sector will be revealed along with their commitment to sowing seeds for a sustainable future. The forest restoration movement will take off from the company’s BINHI greening legacy.
“Having planted thousands of hectares over the years through our BINHI project, the company has recognized that there is still so much more to be done if it really wants to achieve a greener future not only for Negros Island, but for the entire country,” EDC’s Watershed Management Head in Negros Island, Abba Grace R. Sanchez, said.
The partners’ collective efforts will go on to establish what positive energy can do for a greener Negros Island.
Deadline for submission of entries for the battle of the bands has been extended until September 26 until 5:00p.m.
Submitted entries will be screened by the organizers to determine completeness of requirements and alignment with the theme. Semi-finalists will be announced this weekend.
The lead vocalists of popular bands Up Dharma Down and Cueshe will be the judges in the grand finals on October 10. They will also perform along Jett Pangan from the Dawn and the Crazy Duo, the Cebuano team from It’s Showtime’s “Funny Juan” contest.
