A Department of Agrarian Reform project funded by the Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity & Economic Support Services (ARCCESS) has provided a harvester, thresher, and a sprayer to the Bayawan United Farmers Irrigators Association, the first in a series of approved activities.
The project, costing about P1,370,000, was inspected by the DAR Inspectorate Team composed of Carol Valdez, Jonie Abante, Rick Bandillon, Nickson Encabo, Rhodel Lagayan, Star Carolino from DAR Central Office, Aristotle Bernal from DARRO VII and Engr. Carmelita T. Carillo from DAR Negros Oriental. Present during the inspection was Asst. Regional Director for Administration Grace B. Fua, PARO Stephen M. Leonidas, and some DAR Negros Oriental officers and staff.
An initial orientation on the usage of the equipment was demonstrated by the mechanics of the supplier.
Official turn over of the project to its recipient will follow once proper documents are ready.
Through ARCCESS, DAR will introduce agricultural technology and business development to farmer organizations and provide farm equipment and machinery to improve and increase their yield, in coordination with other partner agencies like the Department of Agriculture, the Sugar Regulatory Administration, and the Negros Oriental State University.
