The IBP also elected a five-member Board of Directors: Lawyers Herbert Timtim, Gloria Futalan, Deogracias Eltanal, Jr., Elton Abria and Jason Bandal.
Lawyer Arturo Dupio, outgoing IBP chapter president, said the new officers will schedule the induction ceremony very soon.
Dupio said that he is happy to have served as president of the IBP in the last two years. He expressed hope that the new set of officers would ensure the completion of the IBP building behind the Hall of Justice. Dupio also said that during his term, the IBP also gave assistance to the victims of the February 2012 earthquake in northern Negros Oriental and conducted lectures in various legal clinics.
Dupio also said the IBP was also involved in the committees formed to investigate the killings of two lawyers, Archer Martinez and Manolo Zerna.
