The provincial government of Negros Oriental has started giving booster shots to medical front-liners comprising the A1 priority group, who have been fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019.
Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Liland Estacion, in an interview Thursday, said they have the guidelines for the administration of booster shots to those working in hospitals and clinics.
She said only those who have been administered with Covid-19 vaccine six months ago (or around May 2021) are qualified to receive the booster shot.
Hospitals are asked to submit their respective lists to the cold chain storage facility staff of the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital so they can be given their individual allocations, Estacion said.
Meanwhile, Ace Dumaguete Doctors Hospital has started administering Covid-19 jabs to the pediatric sector (12-17 years old), which will continue until vaccine supplies last.
On its Facebook page, the private hospital said no walk-ins are accepted, and that those interested to avail of the shots must register first via their hotline number for scheduling. (Judy F. Partlow/PNA)
