The Buglasan Festival will go on as scheduled, but not anymore at the reclaimed Pantawan 2 along the boulevard which was the venue chosen by Gov. Pryde Henry Teves.

Gov. Roel Degamo has transferred the venue of the festival back to the Freedom Park fronting the Capitol.

Degamo, who won back the governorship pending a resolution of disqualification case against him, and a Petition for Certiorari over the Comelec decision to declare him winner in the May 2022 elections, has chosen the Buglasan theme Moving Onward NegOrenses amidst Challenges.

Nichol Elman, co-director of the Buglasan Directorate, said that President Marcos is expected to declare Oct. 28 a holiday for Negros Oriental to celebrate the Buglasan Festival of Festivals.

The opening salvo would be on Oct. 21, featuring either Alden Richards or Andrea Brillantes, together with the band The Juans.

Another pop artist will also be featured on Oct. 27, Elman said.

Another major sponsor of the Buglasan will hold an October Fest Pista sa Nayon at Freedom Park, featuring live bands from Manila.

Elman said there would be other scheduled nightly socio-cultural shows to complement with the different presentations and attractions by the local government units, as well as socio-economic activities for 10 days and nights.
