Calindagan barangay captain Antonio Flores Carino died Sunday, October 14, following three cardiac arrests at a local hospital. He was 73.
Carino, had served as barangay captain of Calindagan for many years and he also served as Dumaguete City Councilor during the time of Mayor Agustin Perdices.
The number one barangay councilor, Manuel “Chako” Sagarbarria, the eldest son of Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria, was sworn in Monday as the new barangay chairman of Calindagan.
Carino was also one of the Liberal Party candidates for the City Council for next year’s election.
City Councilor Antonio (TonyRems) Remollo, said the LP has identified nine possible replacements for Carino in the LP lineup.
However, Remollo said that the Party was not discussing the matter until after the interment of Carino’s remains.
Carino’s remains were interred Saturday, October 20.
