A senior student from Camanjac National High School grabbed 3rd place in Sports Writing (English category) during the Regional Schools Press Conference, making her eligible to compete for the upcoming National Schools Press Conference in Angeles City, Pampanga in April.

Janny Vie M. Dales bested other high school campus journalists from Region 7 in the press conference writing competitions held December last year in Naga, Cebu.

For the regional finals, Camanjac National High School produced six winners, both in English and Filipino, who, along with eight other campus journalists from the same school, put their game-face on for the Dumaguete City Division Schools Press Conference in November last year.

Aside from Dales, the five campus journalists from Camanjac National High who also qualified for the regional competition were: Christopher Tagnipis, 2nd place in Editorial Writing (English); Jeannelyn Cabrera, 2nd place in Sports Writing (Filipino), Elmer Madula, 3rd place in Editorial Cartooning (Filipino); Mary Jane Montallana, 4th place in Editorial Writing (Filipino); and Mia Elaine, 4th place in Feature Writing (Filipino).

The contestants were trained through the joint forces and collaborative effort of the CNHS school paper advisers Evangeline Torremocha (Filipino) and Jo Daleene Acabal (English).

The CNHS School Head said she is proud and grateful to the supportive advisers, teachers, and parents for their achievement. (Sarah L. Catabay, CNHS SSP-1)
