DigiBayanis help create economic opportunities and to improve social conditions. The DigiBayani Awards are presented in support of the DigiBayanihan Movement, a national, multisectoral partnership of advocates and volunteers aimed at universalizing digital literacy and promoting digital citizenship. The Awards are organized by the Foundation for Information Technology Education and Development (FIT-ED). Intel Philippines is the strategic partner.
Mrs. Habalo was informed of the Search by FIT-ED. Asked of the preparations and the journey to being an Intel Certified Digital Instructor, she has this to say: “In 2007, I luckily became a recipient of the Intel Teach Training Program on Getting Started and Skills for Success courses at UP NISMED. I participated along with 20 other teachers from various schools in the country.”
“Since then, Intel Teach modules were integrated into selected computer subjects and taught by ICT teachers at Foundation University. Intel then recognized FU as one of the Teacher Education Institutions in the country. It also opened the EXTRAORDINARY opportunity of becoming an Intel Teach National Trainer,“ she added.
“Through the training guide, workshops, enhancement training, and modules of Intel, I helped and trained teachers NATIONWIDE on integrating technology in their classroom and meeting the needs of 21st-century learners. My training experiences include face-to-face, online, and hybrid approaches. I pursue additional learning experience on Web 2.0 tools and Intel Teach Elements E-learning content. I continually share knowledge and encourage teachers to learn more of the modules and activities provided by Intel including online resources available in Intel Engage. “
“In 2014, I became an Edmodo Support Ambassador and Certified Trainer worldwide. With that, I was able to help ICT and non-ICT teachers from various elementary, high school and Universities in the Province of Negros Oriental and even educators abroad in creating and managing an online classroom. “
“Last September 2014, I became a Certified Trainer of Intel Easy Steps. I immediately helped in spreading its implementation by conducting similar Train the Trainers program in the Province. It paved the way for updating the content of our computer subjects and teachers adapting the OBE lessons including the Activity Cards of Intel Easy Steps.”
The DigiBayani Awardees were chosen based on the following criteria and metrics: reach of training activities, training support, sustainability, and, impact on the nominee.
Her entry was DigiBayani for Literacy.
