Chinese tourists rescued in NegOr

Members of the Philippine Coast Guard have rescued five Chinese tourists who went missing while diving in Sitio Cogon, Apo Island in Dauin, Negros Oriental early this week.

PCG said that according to a tour guide, George Regalado, the tourists went missing around noon of November 30. They were said to have rented a boat and dived at the vicinity.

After some time, the boat crew noticed that the five tourists where nowhere in sight.

Regalado then reported to the Coast Guard that the tourists were missing and requested for search and rescue assistance.

A search was immediately conducted and at around 12:20 p.m. that day, the PCG sighted the missing persons floating away from the diving site.

They were subsequently rescued and brought to Apo Island.

They were found to be in good physical condition.

The five rescued Chinese Nationals were identified as Xuan Meng 33; Maling Yuw, 33; Ding Jia, 36; Igi Chuan, 31; and Rug Nim 28. (PNA)
