The City of Dumaguete has acquired three additional brand new vacuum trucks for the City Septage Treatment Facility in Barangay Camanjac.

The three additional vacuum trucks are expected to improve the safe collection and transport of sewage, sludge and waste water from septic tanks and business establishments to the city-managed septage treatment plant.

This will ensure that only treated water will be properly released back to the environment.

City Economic Enterprises Officer Engr. Leticia Duran said each truck costs P4.7 million, and will better serve the increasing number of households and establishments of a growing city.

Mayor Felipe Remollo has also submitted a budget for the proposed purchase of seven additional vacuum trucks to enhance the capacity of the Septage Management Office to serve the needs of the consumers and care for the environment. (PR)
