City gives booster shots to frontliners

The City Health Office has started administering CoViD-19 booster shots for those belonging to A1 category who will be notified of their schedules accordingly.

City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah Talla reported that about 120, 209 doses of CoViD-19 vaccines have been administered by the Dumaguete City Health Office to 70,083 eligible residents using Sinovac, Astra-Zeneca, Moderna, Sinopharm, Pfizer, and the single-dose Janssen jabs as of Dec. 6.

These include the 68, 284 for 1st dose and the 1, 799 who were vaccinated using the single-dose Janssen jabs for a total of 70,083 residents.

One hundred fourteen CoViD-19 frontliners were given booster shots.  

Dr. Talla also disclosed that 1,502 individuals received their COVID-19 jabs in the three vaccination sites at Pulantubig Gym, Foundation University Gymnasium, and Robinsons Place, including those who returned to get their 2nd doses last Monday.

Of the 70,083 eligible residents vaccinated: 2,755 are medical frontliners (A1); 8,193 senior citizens (A2); 9,186 persons with comorbidities (A3); 17,759 frontline personnel (A4); 23, 410 indigents (A5); 6, 820 belonging to the rest of the adult population, and 1, 960 pediatric (12-17 years old) were vaccinated based on the order of priority of the Department of Health.
