From an initial budget of P8 million, Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo has increased it to P 25 million so that a more comprehensive and effective flood control project for the Banilad -Mangnao area will be implemented as soon as the Program of Works is completed.

Councilor Manuel Patrimonio led a team in conducting an ocular inspection of the Lagnasan Creek to the Banilad-Mangnao National Highway so that adequate earth dikes, box culverts and canals will be constructed to define the waterways and prevent the flood water from Valencia to the Cantil-e and Banilad Creek from inundating the households and business establishments along its path and spilling into the highway.

Representatives of the City Engineer’s Office, City Planning Development Office, and barangay officials led by Brgy. Capt. Pacencio Maquiling also joined the inspection and survey that will also determine the private properties and homes that might be affected in the implementation of the flood control project.

The Mayor said the barangay officials will provide their inputs for the required right of way acquisition, design of the structure and negotiation with the owners of the lots and properties that will be affected by the project.
