It is official now. PrimeWater Infrastructure Corp. is the newest player in town that will compete with the Dumaguete City Water District to service thousands of households and establishments with adequate and stable supply of water for the next 25 years.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo signed in behalf of the City government a Memorandum of Agreement with PrimeWater Managing Director for Business Development Caroline Cadelina, witnessed by City Administrator Ricardo Gonzales Jr., Councilor Joe Kenneth Arbas, Romeo Malinis Sabater of PrimeWater, and the Punong Barangays of the City.
Under the agreement, PrimeWater will have the right and discretion to finance, develop, improve, operate, and maintain a new and complete water works system that will render reliable, safe, and adequate water supply within the City.
Mayor Remollo lauded the entry of PrimeWater as a worthy investor that will boost the income of the local government since it is required to pay business taxes, and is committed to pay the City P1.00 per cubic meter of water sold within its territory.
PrimeWater will be infusing P1.8 billion capital in the next 25 years.
Ernie Delco, operations manager of PrimeWater, stressed it hopes to serve 8,000 customers in the first five years. (PIO)
