Filinvest Land Inc. is launching its latest condominium community in this Negros Oriental capital that is expected spur economic development and job creation.

“Futura Shores, situated along the coast in Barangay Mangnao here, was conceived following the success of Marina Spatial, the first project of Filinvest here in Barangay Piapi,” said Phil Calumpang, FLI assistant vice president and area head for Negros Oriental on Friday.

Calumpang told reporters at a press conference that Futura Shores, sitting on a 4.4-hectare property, will have more amenities and is inspired by a coastal community lifestyle like that of Phuket in Thailand with easy access to the beach.

There will be six mid-rise buildings, all with balconies facing a sea or mountain view, wide parking spaces, and at least 12 amenities in a commercial strip that will feature shops and services like automated teller machine, a convenience store, daycare, laundry shop, and water station.

Jasper Merced, FLI local branch manager, said round-the-clock security will be enforced.

The developer will also undertake corporate social responsibility activities that will benefit the barangay and community.

Merced said while it is still too early to gauge how the condominium community in Mangnao will contribute to the city’s economy, he believed that businesses would eventually come in once the building is completed.

“When Futura Shores rise in the next eight years or so, businesses will sprout in the area, the same way how Marina Spatial in Barangay Piapi turned the area into a hub for food outlets and other services like a call center and hotels,” he said.

It is accessible to a shopping mall, public market, city hall, airport, seaport, hospitals, universities, and other schools, among others.

Futura Shores is now in the pre-selling stage. (Judy F. Partlow/PNA)
