The Perpetual Help Community Cooperative Inc. (PHCCI) has reached P2.5 billion total assets in 2016.

It is described as the banner year for the PHCCI for asset and membership growth, said Maricar Aranas-Vensuelo, marketing and advertising officer of the cooperative, in media release Monday.

PHCCI General Manager Michael Johann Hojas was quoted as saying that 2016 recorded and outstanding membership growth of 25 percent, bringing a total of 64,611 members.

“This is unprecedented,” Hojas said.

“This is a very important indicator because we believe that the strength and sustainability of our cooperative live on the number and quality of the members we are able to gather and maintain”, he added in the statement.

The cooperative declared the highest percentage of dividend share and patronage refund for the year 2016, Vensuelo said.

This year the cooperative was able to raise the dividend and patronage refund rates to 7.758 percent and 12.247 percent, respectively, from 7.023 and 11.088.

The dividend share and patronage refund were released Feb. 13, according to Vensuelo. All member/owners are encouraged to update their share capital and regular savings passbooks, she added.

Meanwhile, the 46th Annual General Assembly is set on March 19 at the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex in Dumaguete with the theme Reaching Milestones. (JFP)
