The Perpetual Help Community Cooperative ( PHCCI) celebrates 45 years of dedicated service to valued members and owners of the cooperative in Central Visayas.

The cooperative was established in April 14, 1971 through the initiative of Rev. Fr. Patrick O’Connell who was then the parish priest of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church in Dumaguete,

The cooperative started with only 33 members and now have reached to more than 51 thousand active members.

Director Danilo Cabahug, chairman of the Board of Directors expressed his utmost gratitude to the members/owners of the cooperative that made PHCCI one of the biggest and strongest cooperatives in the country.

He added the trust and confidence, mandate of the members/owners given to the members of the Board and the management has strengthened the motivation to work harder and achieve the cooperatives vision.

He is confident that the vision they have aimed for 2016 can be easily achieved with the intercession of Our Mother of Perpetual Help and God Almighty, Cabahug added.

The anniversary celebration Thursday started with a mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Ramonito Maata, followed by a motorcade around the city thoroughfares.

Some gifts of gratitude like a sack of rice and PHCCI customized giveaways were given to members transacting through a raffle.

General Manager Michael Johann Hojas said he is thankful that the cooperative continues to soar high and strong. He said the BOD and management are crafting wonderful ideas and projects that will benefit the members.

He is looking forward to celebrating more decades with PHCCI and its owners. (PNA)
