The Provincial Intelligence Branch-Special Operations Group seized another high-value target in the illegal drug trade in Dumaguete.
After they were served a search warrant in their room in barangay Camanjac Wednesday, Kevin Santillan and Giselle Diez were nabbed with more or less 300 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P1.8 million.
PIB-SOG team leader Police Lieutenant Allen June Germodo disclosed surveillance activities were conducted on the suspects and had even conducted a test buy. It applied for a search warrant after receiving information the suspects just came from Cebu where they get their stuff.
The suspects eluded arrest during an anti-drug operation conducted in Habitat 1, Bajumpandan, more than a year ago and since then their whereabouts is being monitored through revelations made by suspects in previous arrests.
Recovered in that anti-drug operation included remittances by the thousands to a certain bank where the names of Giselle and Kevin appeared.
In an interview, Santillan said he is merely a courier and that the drugs is for Christmas. He offered the information that part of the stuff, 100 grams more or less, had been delivered. (Juancho Gallarde)
