The Bayawan City Regional Trial Court has issued arrest warrants against former Cong. Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr. and five others for their alleged involvement in three killings which took place in 2019 here in Negros Oriental.

In an Order dated Oct. 4, RTC Branch 63 Assisting Judge Amelia Lourdes Mendoza ordered the issuance of the arrest warrants against Teves, Hanna Mae Sumerano, Richard Cuadra, Jasper Tanasan, Rolando Pinili, and Alex Mayagma, after finding probable cause for murder.

The charges were filed by Assistant State Prosecutor Michael John Humarang, Asst. State Prosecutor Biennemar Regala, and Prosecution lawyer Eugene Yusi.

In the Decision, Judge Mendoza said the information filed on March 7 by the Criminal Investigation & Detection Group for multiple murder against the suspects was duly supported with evidence.

The murder complaints stemmed from three separate killings that happened between March and June in 2019 in the Province.

“Finding the information filed to be duly supported with evidence as to the finding of probable cause for murder.…the same is hereby affirmed,” the Order read.

Lt. Stephen Polinar of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial-Public Information Office told Manila reporters on Friday that the arrest warrants have yet to be served, even as one of the respondents, Alex Mayagma, was killed in a police encounter on July 31.

He said the manhunt for the remaining Respondents is ongoing. (AP) The Bayawan City Regional Trial Court has issued arrest warrants against former Cong. Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr. and five others for their alleged involvement in three killings which took place in 2019 here in Negros Oriental.
