The City of Bayawan and the Department of Agrarian Reform have signed a Memorandum of Partnership Agreement that will allow the DAR to endorse subdivision plans approved by the City from the lands awarded to farmer-beneficiaries.
Agrarian Reform Secretary Virgilio R. De Los Reyes signed the MOPA with Bayawan City Mayor Rene Gaudiel in a ceremony at the Bethel Guest House last Oct. 19.
Under the terms of the MOPA, the LGU of Bayawan will be responsible in conducting subdivision survey while the DAR will endorsement of subdivision plans for the approval by Department of Environment of Natural Resources and the issuance of individual Certificate of Land Ownership to our farmer beneficiaries.
The program also saw the awarding of policemen and Army personnel, which the DAR said was their way to show gratitude and appreciation for the support extended during the peaceful FB installation in Polo Coconut Plantation Inc. in Tanjay City.
The highlight of Secretary’s visit was the Inauguration of the village Level Processing Center of Rama Rodriguez Multipurpose Cooperative in Canlaon City, the first in Region VII, managed by our farmer beneficiaries.
Secretary De Los Reyes challenged the members of the cooperative to develop the processing center and their services. The processing center was constructed through the financial support and coordination of DAR, Canlaon City, and RAMPUCO. Some of the products of RAMPUCO are carrot and peanut cookies, peanut butter, carrot juice and turmeric powder. (PR)
