The Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Office in coordination with the DAR Municipal Office of San Jose had distributed lands and installed 13 farmer beneficiaries in a landholding formerly owned by Trison’s Development Corp. in San Jose.
The installation of the beneficiaries to the 10.6492 hectare landholding was attended by Provincial Agrarian Reform Officers Stephen M. Leonidas, Lumel D. Chiu, and OIC-PMEU Head Gerry S. Gumalo and staff from DARMO San Jose and Provincial Office.
In his message, PARO Leonidas stressed the importance of coconut trees, being the “tree of life”. To develop each area, he encouraged the farmer beneficiaries to avail of the many projects and programs of the Philippine Coconut Authority. He also discussed their obligations and responsibilities, most especially the payment of taxes to the government and the annual amortization of the land to the Landbank Of the Philippines.
Highlight of the activity was the distribution of the Certificate of Land Ownership Awards. (PR)
