The Department of Agrarian Reform had installed 487 Agrarian Reform beneficiaries in the Montenegro Estate in Lapay, Bayawan City.
The installation of farmers to the 1,089 hectare of land formerly owned by the Montenegro Estate Inc., was attended by Provincial Agrarian Reform Officers Stephen Leonidas and Lumel Chiu, Atty. Louie Naranjo, chief of the Legal Assistance Division, OIC Sherwin Tubog, and Municipal Agrarian Reform Officers Julmar Toralde and Mariano Sarvida Jr.
Leonidas emphasized in his message that the installation will hasten the subdivision survey and issuance of individual CLOA. Once ARBs will have their own CLOAs, they can start paying their taxes to the City of Bayawan. “Installation of farmer beneficiaries is not just beneficial to the farmers, but also to the local government units”, he said. Leonidas encouraged the farmers to take care and develop the land. (PR)
