We, the members of the Negros Oriental Network of NGOs (NegOrNet), hereby manifest our untiring support and commitment to honor and recognize the local governance partnership with the provincial government of Negros Oriental, and hereby also vehemently deny that the NegOrNet is allegedly providing funding  support to the New People’s Army–Communist Terrorist Group, under the following contexts:

Supporting the New People’s Army is not consistent with the mission and goal of the NegOrNet “to forge a stronger alliance and/or partnership with and among the NGOs and POs in Negros Oriental, to enhance working relationship with the government towards self-reliance and nation-building, and to establish a stronger partnership and continually support the national and local government units among NGOs and POs;”

It is not true that a case had been directly filed against the NegOrNet, and some member organizations, as mentioned in the press release (Metro Post, Oct. 15, 2023);

We, the NegOrNet members,  remain steadfast and committed to our advocacy of effective local governance partnership and active participation in various local special bodies in the Province; and

We call upon the leadership of the provincial government for a dialogue at a proper venue to reiterate and strengthen our partnership work, and to reaffirm our continued support to government’s program that enhance the lives of the Filipino people, and promote inclusive development.

Done this 19th day of October 2023 in the City of Dumaguete, Philippines.
