Two dignitaries graced the students’ acquaintance program of the Negros Oriental State University College of Arts & Sciences.
Gov. Roel Degamo gave a short message, acknowledged the honesty and candor of the youth, and stressed that education of the youth is one of his priority projects with health and livelihood programs. He also informed the students that Negros Oriental is ranked 4th among the 10 top performing Provinces in the country.
Former NORSU President Dr. Henry A. Sojor in his inspirational talk recalled glimpses of his past administration, and said leadership is an art, as well as a science. He stressed that at CAS, the student is expected to perform either as an artist or a scientist. He encouraged them to enjoy the annual gathering since the acquaintance program is for friendship and fellowship.
CAS Dean Dr. Violeta Taring, the faculty and some 1,000 students felt dignified celebrating the College’s camaraderie locally termed Himamat. Also in attendance was NORSU President Dr. Don Vicente C. Real who also served as inducting officer of the CAS student government. (Joy Perez)
