The Department of Environment and Natural Resources has declared the landslide areas in sitio Bloke 2, barangay Solonggon in La Libertad, Sitio Ilaya, Tinayunan beach, sitio Pitogo and P. Zamora St. of Guihulngan City as danger zones.
The declaration was made after aftershocks continued to be felt in these areas, coupled by heavy rain.
Loreto Alburo, DENR 7 director, advised the public to refrain from venturing within these areas.
Alburo said these danger zones are still unstable and are unsafe.
The search and retrieval operations for over 60 missing persons in landslides in La Libertad and Guihulngan were suspended after no additional bodies were found.
Masses were held in barangay Planas, Guihulngan and in barangay Solonggon, La Libertad, to mark the end of the search and to provide closure for the survivors of the disaster.
Meanwhile, the earthquake damage as listed by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has reached Php 30 million for irrigation. A total of 209 schools were affected, with 582 buildings and 1016 classrooms needing replacement. Damage to livestock was also pegged at Php 868,000.
