The Department of Education Division of Negros Oriental will be coming up with a new system in the ranking of teachers to level the playing field between hardworking teachers and those who have doctorate and masteral degrees.
DepEd division superintendent of schools Dr. Salustiano Jimenez told the division executive conference Tuesday the new system enables everybody, especially hardworking teachers and top performers of the division to be ranked first.
He said that whenever ranking is being done, those who are doing their best are usually left behind including the principals who have accomplished so much for their districts with no time for schooling while those with masteral degrees are pursuing their studies.
Jimenez, however, made it clear the academic requirement will still be part and parcel of the ranking system but is not the only gauge in determining the rank of a teacher in urging them to push through with their professional development.
His pronouncement on the new ranking system for next year was applauded by teachers-in-charge, head teachers, principals, and district supervisors all over the province who attended the division executive conference which was graced by Governor Roel Degamo. (PNA/Juancho Gallarde)
