DepEd Dgte grabs RSPC overall championship

Among the 19 Divisions of Region VII that participated in the 2014 Regional Schools Press Conference, the Dumaguete City Division ranked first in the secondary level, and third place in the elementary level, earning 73 total points, and was declared overall champion.

The delegation was composed of campus journalists and school paper advisers from both public and private schools in Dumaguete.

The 2014 RSPC was hosted by the Division of Bayawan City.

Dumaguete Division delegation head Ramir Uytico, together with the Division coordinators, Dr. Victoria Maquiling and Sarah Catabay, acknowledged the support given by the Bayawan officials led by Mayor Ismael Martinez, and the DepEd Bayawan Division headed by Ofelia Hermosa.

The contest comprised of English and Filipino categories. Winners for the individual writing category in Elementary: Ninotchka Caitlin Chan, Dew Geisha Fabillar, and Allysa Ordoñez (CCSLS), Sheena Marie Infante and Kianna Margaretth Piñero (NCES), Shauna Tifora (WCES,) Joelie Belle Badon and Danielle Jane Masbad (WCECLC), and Krea Arnette Calimotan (WCSES).

For the group category, Radio Broadcasting (Filipino) of NCES.

For the individaul writing (secondary) category: Jude Martin Amiscaray (SUHS), Haniel Anthony Bacang, Nichole Gabrielle Pacaldo, and Carlo Manalo (CCSLS), Lucille Ruth Pepico and Jennica Anne A Bailon (RTPM- DSHS), Carl Joel Tilos (CNHS) and Sunshine Repollo (JNHS).

For the group category, Radio Broadcasting (CCSLS) both in English and Filipino.

All of the individual category winners and one group category are eligible to represent Region 7 in the 2015 National Schools Press Conference in Taguig City. (Sarah Catabay/DepEd City Division)
