The Dumaguete City Schools Division recently recognized all partner government agencies that have collaborated with the Department of Education in various ways, benefitting thousands of faculty and learners enrolled in the 18 public elementary and seven high schools.
City Schools Division Supt. Gregorio Cyrus Elejorde awarded plaques of recognition to Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, the City Council, 30 Punong Barangays, Dumaguete City PNP, and various offices of the Dumaguete local government unit for their joint commitment to DepEd.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo reaffirmed his commitment to invest in education by pursuing the construction of several school buildings with a total amount of P63.2 million in 2022, the hiring of teacher-tutors for the barangays, and assigning City-paid workers to DepEd schools to “help improve the quality of instruction”.
It was not specified what professional expertise the City-paid workers will bring to DepEd.
Among the City officials present to receive their awards from Superintendent Elejorde, Dr. Juditha Mapue, and Dr. Nelson Caday included Chief of Police Lt. Col. Joeson Parallag and the 30 Punong Barangays. (PIO)
