Campus journalists representing the Department of Education Region VII Division of Dumaguete City received major awards during the 2016 National Schools Press Conference among 19 Divisions, held in Koronadal City.
Samantha Rae Villanueva Sumanoy of Catherina Cittadini School, ranked 3rd in PhotoJournalism, elementary Filipino category. Her coach was Rizza Abringe.
The Scriptwriting & Radio Broadcasting Team of Cittadini also ranked 4th in the Secondary English category. The team was composed of: Jeff Edwards Catabay and Anja Shanelle Fontelo as anchors, Prince Adrian Ambroce Gerard Sedillo as World News reporter and infomercial, Roselyn Noblefranca as National News reporter, Angelica Faith Generoso as Local News reporter, Alexandra Kaye Tuale as Sports reporter, and Gabriel Lance Calumpang Arbon as technician.
Other minor awards received by the team were: 3rd place Best Infomercial, 4th place Best Script, and 5th placep Best Technical Application. Their coach was Rizza Abringe. They were accompanied by Sr. Ellen Joy Cajegas, Cittadini directress, .
Other qualifiers of the National Schools Press Conference included: Jerich Ivan Paalisbo (ABC Learning Center) with Imelda Paalisbo as coach; Mary Jane Nacorda (Calindagan Elementary School) with Raquel Tasic as coach; and Isabela Alano and Henilyn Chiu (Cittadini School).
The 2016 NSPC, hed on Feb. 22-26, was hosted by the Division of Koronadal. Dumaguete City Division Schools Supt. Dr. Evangel Luminarias — together with Division coordinators Dr. Victoria Maquiling and Sarah Catabay — acknowledged the all-out support extended by the officials of Koronadal City, and the Division of Koronadal City, particulary the Sto.
