The City Council has approved a P3 million budget request of Mayor Felipe Remollo to grant an incentive allowance for public school teachers as embodied in the City Development Council Executive Committee Resolution No. 2021-49.
The Mayor confirmed that each of the 1,017 nationally-paid teachers of the Department of Education in the Dumaguete City Division will receive P3,000 cash incentive.
The money will be released to the teachers once all the required documents are complied, submitted, and reviewed by the proper authorities.
Meanwhile, the City Bids and Awards Committee has started the public bidding for the 64,000 bags of rice that will be distributed to the 32,000 households this month.
Each household will receive 20 kilos of rice as assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic. (PIO)
