City Schools Division Supt. Gregorio Cyrus Elejorde has confirmed to Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo that the Department of Education will construct a two-storey Sub-Regional Office VII building with roof deck in a donated lot in barangay Batinguel in Dumaguete.
The proposed building, sitting on a 10,000-square meter lot donated by the heirs of Agaton and Calenica Pal, will serve as an extension or satellite office of Deped Region 7, accessible to all the Schools Divisions of Negros Oriental. It will have facilities for students, teachers, and administrators to conduct learning activities, training sessions, workshops and seminars.
The Mayor and Schools Division Superintendent Elejorde have been coordinating closely, and sharing resources with Education Sec. Leonor Magtolis-Briones and Region 7 Director Salustiano Jimenez to build more school buildings, classrooms, facilities and acquire ICT equipment to promote quality and accessible basic education for all learners.
