Dgte Division culminates K-12 mass training

In accordance with the Department of Education’s full implementation of the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum, the Division of Dumaguete City culminated the conduct of mass training of Grade 7 public and private school teachers at the Dumaguete Science High School held June 16.

The training aimed to prepare the Grade 7 teachers for the nationwide roll of out of the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum. It also aims to equip all participants with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes in implementing the Grade 7 curriculum.

“The training was very timely as our Department has implemented in full swing the new curriculum starting school year 2012 – 2013,” said Fe Adoracion S. Lingcong, one of the teacher-participants in the activity. She added, “This will definitely hone and trained us to become effective, efficient, and capable teachers.”

The facilitators of the training were the various master teachers and education supervisors of the Division. Earlier, the trainors were also trained in the Regional Training Seminar-Workshop last May 28 to 30 in Cebu City.

Various secondary public and private secondary schools from Dumaguete City and Sibonga, Cebu Province participated in the training. (Claude Sun)
