The National Disability Prevention Week is a yearly celebration which aims to raise awareness about the rights of persons with disabilities in the Philippines. Some of these rights are the right to education, employment, good health, rights to opportunities that are readily available to all. This year’s theme also has reference to the UN Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities which the Philippines signed and ratified two years ago.
The same activities will be held in the Municipality of Valencia on July 20, and in the Municipality of Dauin on July 22. (PR)
