Experts from the Department of Information & Communications Technology are in Negros Oriental to look into its system of reporting coronavirus disease cases, and vaccination rate to get a clear picture of the Province’s pandemic status.

Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Liland Estacion on Wednesday said this is after discrepancies were noted between reports coming from the local government units and the Vaccine Operations Reporting System (VORS) of the DICT.

“The DICT is checking on the uploading of the reports, as some LGUs are now very upset because they said there is a discrepancy with what they have been reporting, and the actual [report] that the VORS is generating,” Estacion said.

She expressed optimism that after tracing the problem, the results will show a higher vaccination rate for the Province.

Negros Oriental remains under Alert Level 2 due to its “poor” vaccination accomplishment.

As of June 20, the Province reported a 57.62 percent or 661,824 individuals fully- vaccinated, including the one-shot Janssen vaccine, against its target of 1,148,424 individuals. (Judy F. Partlow/PNA)
