The Diocese of Dumaguete held the first of a series of seminars for wedding photographers, events coordinators and similar traders last Saturday to ensure smooth and orderly activities and respect for the liturgical flow.

Msgr. Julius Perpetuo Heruela, Rector of the St. Catherine of Alexandria Cathedral, the seat of the diocese, said accreditation and identification cards issued to those who attended the workshop are valid for two years.

The topics discussed during the seminar were a lecture on the Sacraments (Catechism of the Catholic Church), Signs and Symbols (General Instruction of the Roman Missal) and Guidelines for Church Wedding Photographers.

Msgr. Heruela also gave out guidelines for church wedding planners.

According to Msgr. Heruela, there is a need to organize church wedding planners, photographers, events coordinators and the like as he cited some instances where, due to the lack of knowledge by these people on the Sacraments and the Mass, activities inside the Church were not quite orderly.
