A local beneficiary of government consultancy assistance and technologies commended the Department of Science & Technology for helping  micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) like him in their business ventures.

Alan Jan Giganan of Chantilly Cake Haus expressed gratitude to DOST for its Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) that has helped business boost their productivity, and increase their product competitiveness.

During a Manufacturing Productivity Extension monitoring visit here in Negros Oriental, Giganan  highlighted to DOST officials and industry manufacturing experts the positive transformations in Chantilly Cake Haus thus far.

The changes include an enhanced production process and layout that has markedly contributed to an increased production capacity and market share of Chantilly Cake Haus in the cakes & pastries business in Dumaguete that has been flourishing since the pandemic.

Aside from Chantilly Cake Haus, five other local businesses availed last year of DOST’s Manufacturing Productivity Extention monitoring, including Angel Buns Bakeshoppe & Grocery, Habi Bee Handy Crafts, San Julio ARB Cooperative, MGI Restoration Garage & Car Wash, and Potato Systems Research & Training Center.
