The Department of Science & Technology-Science Education Institute has opened the 2022 Junior Level Science Scholarships e-application.

Interested applicants who are incoming 3rd year college students will need to access the online application at https://jlss.science-scholarships.ph/

The applicant must have a valid and secure email address, a working cellphone number, and stable internet connection before accessing the site.

To qualify for the application process, the student must be a regular second year college student enrolled in a DOST-SEI priority S&T course at identified universities in the Second Semester of AY 2021-2022. He or she must have a general weighted average of at least 83 percent or its equivalent and with no conditional or failing mark from the First Semester of First Year until the First Semester of Second Year in college, including the midyear term, if enrolled.

In addition, the applicant must be a natural-born Filipino citizen; must be of good moral character and in good health; and may have taken the DOST-SEI Scholarship before but did not pass or have qualified for the DOST Undergraduate Scholarship but did not avail the scholarship award.

The scholarship application is open to applicants regardless of socio-economic status. For students with high aptitude in science and mathematics who belong to families whose socio-economic status exceeds the set of values of certain indicators, the student may apply for the Merit Scholarship.

RA 7687 is specifically meant for the poor, talented, and deserving students who belong to families whose socio-economic status do not exceed the set values of certain indicators.

Successful applicants who will graduate in their chosen bachelor’s degree shall teach science and mathematics in secondary schools throughout the country.

Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of P7,000 for 10 months per school year, book allowance of P5000/semester, thesis allowance of P10,000, transportation allowance for scholars who will study outside their home province, and a graduation allowance of P1,000.

Deadline of application for the 2022 JLSS E-application is on July 31. Interested applicants may send a message to DOST Negros Oriental PSTC Facebook page or call 0955-019-2814 for inquiries. (Reinhold Jek Abing, /DOST NegOr)
