The Department of Science & Technology-Negros Oriental conducted a seminar-forum on Science & Technology Innovation Support for two people’s organizations, namely the Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Farmers Association Inc., and the Maningcao United Farmers Association Inc.
The event was also attended by personnel from the Balinsasayao Twin Lake Natural Park Protected Area Management Office, and the Apo Island Protected Landscape & Seascape Management Office.
The seminar introduced the various programs and services offered by the DOST Negros Oriental, including the Community Empowerment through Science & Technology program, the Grant-in-Aid program, the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program, as well as training initiatives, consultancy services, laboratory services, and packaging and labeling assistance.
The consultation session provided an opportunity for the people’s organizations to discuss the various challenges they encounter in their daily operations and community activities, particularly in the areas of livelihood, health and nutrition, and environmental protection and conservation.
The discussions served as a platform for DOST to identify potential areas where their programs and services could provide meaningful interventions. (PR)
